April 11th, 2017 by Jennifer Beile 6 Dos and Don’ts in Festival Trends

It’s festival season once again, a favorite time of year for fashionistas to combine their love of music and fashion. Music festivals are well known to be an excuse to show off your style. Months of planning go into the kind of head-to-toe festival looks you wouldn’t necessarily wear in your everyday life. This year, try mixing in pieces that are more practical yet still trendy—you’ll stand out in the crowd with your updated take on festival style.

Don’t be a Coachella cliché this year; change up your look by following these simple dos and don’ts in festival trends.

Don’t: Flower Crowns
I know, I know… Flower crowns are the epitome of music festival fashion. I myself still love a good flower crown when the moment presents itself—I wore one to my baby shower just this past weekend! But it’s time to bid adieu to the ubiquitous music festival flower crown.

Do: A Hat and SPF.
I don’t mean to sound like your mother (though if you missed it above, I am expecting after all!), but your skin will thank you for wearing a hat and some SPF during a weekend in the desert. Try an athletic-inspired or a wide-brimmed hat to top your festival ensemble.

Hats

Don’t: Heeled Anything
Heeled ankle booties are a staple of mine and many others no matter the occasion. But let’s be honest: heeled boots—or heels of any kind—are not kind to your feet during those long festival days.

Do: Sneakers and Flats
Sneakers have been trending, and our feet are taking notice and thanking us! Mix up your usual boho look and pair your ensemble with some sneakers or lace-up flats to stay trendy and practical.

Flats

Don’t: Leather, Suede, and Fur
Y’all… Music festivals are held in the desert. It’s hot! Leave those heavy layers at home and enjoy yourself instead of flirting with heatstroke. Keep these fabrics to accessories like bags.

Do: Breezy Fabrics
Sheer is in, and it’s perfect for staying cool during a weekend in the desert! Layer a lightweight dress or a sheer top over some shorts and a bralette and you’re ready!

April 10th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Modern Ways to Wear a Pantsuit

If you’re thinking there’s no way to add excitement to your wardrobe with a strict pantsuit dress code, think again! Whether you’re required to show up in one or not, there are plenty of ways to wear one in style. It’s time to add a dose of style to your workday; check out the looks below for new and modern ways to wear a pantsuit.

pant suit

For a modern twist, a striped pantsuit with a white t-shirt and sneakers has everything you need to feel stylish. Choose a suit with vertical lines for the illusion of height.

Heading out with friends after work but want to ditch the corporate feel of a pantsuit? Achieve that casual yet put-together look by swapping your blouse out for a graphic t-shirt.

P3 - Lisa Olsson

Commit to an all-white pant suit and pull your outfit together with a pair of brightly-hued heels. As with all head-to-toe white ensembles, make sure to check that your pantsuit isn’t see-through before you head out the door!

P4 - The Nomis Niche

Make a statement by embracing a pantsuit in a bold floral pattern. Elevate the look with white accents to recreate this ultimate cool-girl style.

 P5 - Sazan

Dress to impress with a pantsuit that been been fitted and tailored to your body. We love how a plaid print and slim fit adds edge to this still-professional pantsuit.

P6 - Viva Luxury

Those who believe the only way to achieve feminine style in the workplace is through dresses and skirts have clearly never seen Annabelle Fleur—of Viva Luxury—rock a black and white pantsuit. This black bowtie and cropped trousers combo is a breath of fresh air!
