November 16, 2023 Earn Holiday Cash by Selling Clothes

Thanksgiving is only a week away, which means we’re starting to wonder where we’ll get all the holiday cash we need for holiday gifts!

What if we told you that one of the best options for holiday cash is sitting right there in your closet?

Selling your gently used, on-trend fashion pieces can result in an immediate cash payout at buy-sell-trade fashion stores like Crossroads.

Crossroads offers a 30% cash payout for what we price your items for, but if you have friends and family who love great secondhand fashion, you can choose 50% trade credit to shop the store!

Take a look at our current selling guide to learn more about what trends, styles, and labels our in-store buyers are looking for right now. Then, check your closet for those pre-loved items that you just don’t reach for anymore. You know the pieces: they just don’t fit right or are no longer your style.

Pack them up and make your way to your nearest Crossroads to get cash or trade credit in your hands right away. No appointment is necessary.

Live too far away from our stores? That’s OK. You can try Sell by Mail instead!

November 14, 2023 3 Ways to Style a Ruffle Dress for Winter

A ruffle dress may be one of the last items you think of when imagining your winter wardrobe, but hear us out.

With a little creative styling, these dresses can be winter-proofed with the right footwear and additional layers. Tights and tall socks can extend their wear into cooler temps too.

And if you live somewhere where it gets really cold, you can consider these dresses for indoor gatherings and holiday parties. Just lean towards your dresses in darker colors and keep accessories in winter textures and shades.

Below are 3 easy ways to style a ruffle dress for winter wear.

1. Belted with Booties

Add a leather belt and boots or booties to freshen the look for cooler weather.

2. With Combat Boots (and Caps!)

Warm socks and combat boots will help you make the seasonal switch, with a cap or beanie adding even more warmth.

3. Add a Vest

Vests come in so many materials and styles, so add this extra layer. We’re very likely to pick sweater vests.

Along with the ruffle dress, there are a number of other trends we’re looking for this season. Check out our current selling guide to see the styles and labels we’d love to add to our racks.

November 6, 2023 Stay Warm & Stylish in a Puffer Vest

A super easy, fail-proof way to add warmth to your fall and winter looks is by adding a puffer vest.

It’s a piece ready for that moment when a full jacket or coat is too much, or when you don’t want to cover up the great look you styled (We’ve been there).

Try them over blazers, sweatshirts, turtlenecks, and even cropped pieces.

Need inspiration? Here are some looks we found on Instagram that show you several different ways to layer them.

Over a Blazer

Yes, you read that right. Puffer vests can look fabulous with your work attire.

With Cropped Tops

Try one with a cropped top–or even–a cropped vest with a cropped top.

Over Sweatshirts

You thought sweatshirts were warm and cozy. Now try one with a puffer vest layered on top. Next level!

With Cable Knit Sweaters

Like we mentioned, a vest can ensure that the pretty details of your other pieces shine through. A great example of this is a cable-knit sweater.

A puffer vest is only one of the trends we’re looking for this season. See our current selling guide for even more. You can shop or sell them in any of our store locations right now.
