Pastels for fall… groundbreaking? Not quite. But they are refreshing. We are so used to sticking to neutrals and dark, rich tones when the weather turns grey and cold, but this season, lighten your mood as the weather gets darker by adding soft pastel pieces into your fall wardrobe this season.
Take a look at some of my favorite ways to incorporate pastel colors into your fall wardrobe.
Pair Different Hues of the Same Color
Continue the millennial pink trend into Fall with a cozy pink knit or pretty pink trousers. Or, pair them together like Liz!
Wear a Statement Coat
Keep the sunshine with you all season long and find a statement coat in any bright, pastel color to coordinate with your deeper, richer wardrobe. Yellow pairs well with blues and purples, as we can see with Charlotte’s fashion week outfit.
Lighten Up Your Knits
When shopping for your new knit collection, choose some lighter colors. Pastel colors will compliment the typical Fall colors, like greys and blacks.
Dress it Up
Keep your summer dresses in rotation by adding layers, or look for a new fall dress with lighter colors, and heavier fabrics.
Shoes
Add a touch of soft pastel to your outfit in the form of shoes.
Accessorize
Use your scarf to brighten your outfit, or like Kat, create an entire palate of pastels!

September 18th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada Round-Up: 6 Ways to Wear Midi Skirts
If you’re in need of some midi skirt styling tips, look no further than our favorite fashion bloggers! They’ll show you how to expertly wear this fall staple. One of our favorite secrets? Play with proportions. Choose fitted tops that accentuate your waistline or slouchy oversized pieces that can be tucked in.
Here are a few of our other go-to tips for styling a midi skirt.
Play up box pleats. There’s just something so feminine and flirty about box-pleated midi skirts. They have a vintage feel that makes them an instant hit! We love how this black and white top matches the two tones of this skirt.
Pair a plain white tee with a gingham midi skirt for a throwback style that feels fresh in 2017.
Recreate this sultry look by wearing a midi bodycon skirt with a lace top.
We love how Mary Orton of the blog Memorandum paired her ruffle shirt with this pleated skirt.
Can’t enough of the monotone trend? Neither can we! We’re in love with this olive green combination. To get this look, pair the same shade in contrasting textures.
As far as we’re concerned, there’s nothing more creative in fashion than layering multiple distinctive pieces together. This gingham sweetheart top looks great layered with a white t-shirt and tucked into a denim midi skirt.

It’s that time of year again. The mornings and evenings are getting cooler, but summer’s heat still lingers during the day. No matter the actual weather, something about the beginning of September has us itching to pull out our knits, booties, and coats. Dressing with light layers, muted tones, and key fall accessories will tide you over until it’s time to fully transition your closet from warm weather to cold.
Take a look at these 7 outfits to inspire your summer-to-fall style!
Kristen, WhoWhatWear
WhoWhatWear editor Kristen knows that a blazer is the perfect topper during transitional weather. It provides lightweight coverage that a coat would be too heavy for.
Elifnaz, Belle Melange
Elifnaz’s outfit is perfect for early fall. A muted, long-sleeve floral blouse paired with a denim midi skirt and sneakers will keep you comfortable from morning to evening.
Samantha, Could I Have That?
I love Samantha’s refreshing way of layering two lightweight tops for a little extra coverage.
Julie, Orchid Grey
A good hat is the way to my heart, and with a cool breeze in the air, fall is the best time to break out your hat collection!
Olivia, What Olivia Did
Olivia’s silk burgundy dress is the perfect transition piece; the long sleeves and high neck add slightly more coverage for early fall days.
Paulien, Polienne
Swap out your breezy blouses for more structured, heavier ones. Statement sleeves like the ones on Paulien’s top are still on trend for this season!
Mary, Happily Grey
If all else fails, throw a lightweight bomber on it and call it a day!

After another hot and humid summer, we’re excited for the weather to finally cool down. Fall is here, and what do you do when the weather starts to get chilly? Warming your hands in front of the heater is one option, but our favorite is having a handful of outerwear pieces to get you through those brisk fall days.
Here are six key fall outerwear pieces you should pick up this fall!
1. With a classic olive green utility jacket and a scarf, you’re set for any and all fall outings this season.
2. Recreate this look with a suede biker jacket and a plain white t-shirt.
3. When the weather is colder than usual, slip into a long and cozy shearling jacket. Tone down the teddy-bear look by pairing it with some simple black clothing as your foundation.
4. Nothing says fall quite like a rust-colored cardigan!
5. Trench coats are always a classic fall staple. They’re universally flattering, come in a variety of patterns, and–best of all—can instantly elevate an outfit.
6. The best thing about bomber jackets is that they’re incredibly versatile and can be worn in any season. For your next brunch out with your gal pals, go casual in bomber jacket paired with your favorite skinny jeans.
